Shannon Sain has played softball since she was 8 years of age.  She played league ball, select ball, high school, and advanced to college ball with a full scholarship to Blinn College where she received an offer on her second practice with Blinn from Lamar coach.  She has played on the Lamar University Softball Program since day one until now.  She started out her season this year on our brand new field with the first ever out of the park home run to the new complex.  She finished the season and her last time to ever play on the field again, since she is a senior, with the winning hit – sending the team on to the Southland Conference Tournament in Louisiana where they took third.  She also holds the record for the most RBI hits of the year.  While at conference playoffs, she received an award for 3rd team conference utility player.  While being such a dedicated player, she also received the Iron Cardinal of the Year Award as well as holding a grade point average of 4.0.  She is an inspiration to all who know her and what a strong-hearted player and person she is.  She is a true example of that player that never gives up on herself or her team.  We should all be so lucky to be that kind of person.
