Report: Rangers sign RHP Miller to 1-year deal

The Texas Rangers have agreed to a one-year contract with free agent right-hander Shelby Miller, The Athletic reported Wednesday.Miller, 28, missed most of the last two seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2017.He has already passed a physical with the Rangers, per The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.Miller, a native of Houston, returns to his home state after stints with the St. Louis Cardinals (2012-14), Atlanta Braves (2015) and Diamondbacks (2016-18). He was an All-Star with Atlanta, posting a 3.02 ERA and setting career highs that season with 33 starts, 205 1/3 innings pitched and 171 strikeouts.
